SJOOW is rated for indoor and outdoor use and used in heavy industrial applications. The wires are covered with a synthetic oil, ozone and water resistant EPDM rubber with insulation and a rugged oil and UV resistant thermoset chlorinated polyethylene jacket.  

The recommended charge cable installation path for the Campergy wiring kit includes a hole under the roof rack that is sealed by a grommet that fits to the round jacket of the 12 awg SJOOW indoor/outdoor industrial cable.  There are several other holes in the body for the mounts that hold the luggage rack on, so one more won’t hurt.  Plus, the hole location is up and away from the drip holes so it's essentially a dry location. 

The installation is completely hidden  The cable drops into the cabin above the headliner and is routed through a wire passage over the B-Pillar, into the unused vent above the side window behind the driver seat and out a hole near the bottom of the b-pillar.  The hole near the bottom of the B-Pillar is behind the kitchen cabinet or weekender jump seats. The hole exists on later vans and may need to be added for early vans.  Have a preview of the installation instructions and templates Campergy provides with every order.

Campergy looked into using a larger gauge wire to reduce the losses, but couldn’t source a connector that met the size and current constraints.  This is because connectors for larger gauges are designed to accommodate higher voltages and currents that drive up the size.
